Reasons To Buy Local

  • Food grown locally is fresher, more nutritious and tastes better.
  • Local fruits and vegetables are bred for flavor, not for their ability to hold up for transportation.
  • BUY LOCAL! When you purchase locally grown and sold fruits/vegetables you are keeping your money in our community!
  • When you buy locally, you are providing small farmers with a stable market and fair price for their products.
  • Buying local, provides personal security in having access to food you trust and security for your community in helping it become more sustainable.

How You Can Help

Volunteers are always welcome and needed! Volunteers assist the Market Manager in getting vendors checked in and in appropriate booth space. Volunteers also assist with crowd control and making sure everyone involved is having a wonderful experience at our Harrisburg Historic District Farmers Market!

We need entertainers for our Market mornings. If you are interested in doing this please contact the Chamber at 870.578.4104.
